Sampling

Sampling has been one of the most important part for electronic music production. I did a better research than the previous blog and found some artists and their approaches to sampling. Talking about my approach or my remix, I try to make something that doesn’t seem too much to as a remix. I think, working on one sample a lot and manipulating the sound of it or furthermore, even changing the dynamics of the audio file will might lead to a cool sound but it might not sound spontaneous or original.
I liked the way Suzi Analogue (New York - Never Normal, Klipmode) uses sampling. According to her, she’d work around with the parameters of a sampler – digital or analogue and find some interesting loops from the weird (uncommon) audio clips that she chooses to work on. An interesting way that she uses to create mysterious and subtle sounds is by distorting the samples that she uses. “Even if its an everyday sound like laughter, I’d want to distort it so it would be hard to figure out what exactly the sound is.” she said on (Red Bull Music Academy Daily, 2019).
Another important approach that she uses into her production process is pitch-shifting the samples. She once sampled the female’s voice in a song which link is down below in references, and she pitched down the vocal so much that it didn’t seem like a female’s voice anymore (Red Bull Music Academy Daily, 2019). She uses “Organelle”, a sampler and a synthesizer (Organelle, 2019) which is full of effects and everything. This helps her sample in an effective manner. Hence, it is things and processes like this that helps her in the production process. For my remix, I’d like to use the same ideology as hers and make appropriate sounds for my remix.

Interesting to read about this artist Kash. Would be great if you could embed a Youtube video or other link so that we can hear what you are talking about here.
